This Privacy Policy explains how Backstock, Inc. collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our inventory tracking software and services. By using Backstock, you agree to the practices described below.

1. Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly, such as your name, email address, and account credentials when you register, along with the inventory records, prices, and notes you enter into the platform. We also automatically collect certain technical information, including device and browser details, IP address, and usage activity, to operate and improve the service. Payment information is handled by our payment processor and is not stored on our servers.

2. How we use your information

We use your information to provide, maintain, and improve the platform, to authenticate your account, to process transactions, to respond to support requests, and to send service-related communications. We may also use aggregated and de-identified data to analyze usage patterns and develop new features. We do not sell your personal information.

3. How we share information

We share information with trusted service providers who help us operate the platform, such as hosting, analytics, and payment processing partners, and only to the extent needed to perform those services. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or in connection with a business transfer such as a merger or acquisition. We do not share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing.

4. Data retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. After account closure, we may retain certain records as required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. De-identified or aggregated data that can no longer be linked to you may be retained for analytical purposes.

5. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so while we work to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.

6. Your rights and choices

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, update, or delete your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You can manage much of your account information directly within the platform, and you can contact us to exercise any applicable rights. We will respond to verified requests in accordance with applicable law.

7. Cookies and tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how the platform is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling certain cookies may affect how the platform functions. We honor recognized browser signals where required by law.

8. Children's privacy

Backstock is intended for business use and is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected information from a child, we will take steps to delete it promptly.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the platform after an update means you accept the revised policy.
